E61 520D rear brakes and service

Today we have Robs well maintained 520D in for rear brake pads and service.

Just a few shots from the work carried out.

Worn out pads have triggered a warning on the I-Drive.

Time for new pads and wear sensor. You must replace the wear sensor on these cars, and the carry out a brake replacement reset via diagnostic equipment.

Lets undo the sensor which is hidden behind a cover.

You can see below that the wear sensor has been worn away by the brake disc. This is what triggers the ‘replace brake pad’ warning.

Pads removed and worn out.

New pads fitted and ready to go.

Cabin filters (micro filters) full of leaves and general debris. Looks like they haven’t been replaced for some time.
